Why can't my bank account details be verified electronically?

There are various reasons why bank details might not be verified electronically:

A. details might not be up to date
B. some information may have changed recently
C. your bank might not be able to provide your details to the external database - this can be the case if you have held an account with them for a long time or if they are a "new bank."
If this is the case, we would need some evidence of the account that is registered to you at the address we have for you.
