Why would my trade 'Route to Dealer'?

There can be many reasons, but most often, it will be because the trade is above the online market size. This is the size of trade that the Retail Service Providers are willing to trade without reference. This will vary by stock, e.g. a FTSE 100 stock will usually have a much larger online market size than a stock which is listed on a smaller exchange. The limit can also vary from day to day and, at times of high volatility, can go to zero.
